Welcome to the 2009-2010 Common Focus Webpage!

 

Common Focus is Oak Hill Elementary’s equivalent to what most would refer to as a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).  Common Focus consists of a group of volunteers that represent each “common” or hall.  Each common coordinator works with the teachers in that common to organize volunteers for needs or events.

 

Common Focus holds fundraising events throughout the year such as Popcorn Sales, Santa’s Workshop, and Festivals and uses funds gained to purchase rewards for student attendance and Principal’s list, and to purchase books, provide teacher/staff appreciation events, and supplement technology needs and needs of the Family Resource Center.  We also coordinate the Box Tops and Soup Label Programs to help teachers earn money for their classrooms each year.

 

We appreciate all of our volunteers and want to include everyone who wants to participate in volunteering at Oak Hill Elementary, whether you have a lot of time or just an hour or two.  If you’d like to volunteer and have yet to sign up, please send a note through your student’s teacher to Common Focus.  The requirements for volunteering in the school (by the Pulaski County School District) are a criminal history/background check and confidentiality training. We’ll get you all of the information you need.

Common Focus Meets in the Cafeteria on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00.  The next meeting will be on March 9, 2010.   Our 2nd annual Luau is going to be  on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:30 to 8:00.  We need volunteers!
